A message of hope and encouragement 

 

 

I will lift my title from verse 11 of Psalm 16

“IN OUR HOPE AND IN THY PRESENCE THERE IS FULNESS OF JOY”

 

 le verset 11 du Psaume 16. 

 

We see it almost every time we go to a home going service

we become mindful of our finiteness. We begin to once again reflect on our

mortality and our need for one another. Let’s not allow this to be the pattern

of how we live dear friends. There are many other opportunities to express our

need to gather with one another. We should live lives with on true focus –

Jesus and Jesus only. “Nou man min Jezu” So then, I want to shift our focus

from pain to joy, from despair to hope, from grief to rejoice because we have come to celebrate lives lived for the glory of God. 

 

I present to you four approaches to our theme “In Thy Presence is Fulness of Joy” from verses 6 – 11 of Psalm 16 with a message of Hope in The Lord.

 

 Psalm 16 :8.  8 I have set the Lord always before me: because he is at my right hand, I shall not be moved.

We sing - I trust in God wherever I may be, Upon the land, or on the rolling sea, For come what may, from day to day, My heav’nly Father watches over me. 

 

 -  Un espoir qui équipe le Chretien pour dire que j’ai confiance en Dieu.  

Psaume 16 :8.  8 J'ai constamment l'Éternel sous mes yeux ; Quand il est à ma droite, je ne chancelle pas.

 Romans 8 :31. 31. What shall we then say to these things? If God be for us, who can be against us?

 

Romans  8 :31. 31 Que dirons-nous donc à l'égard

de ces choses? Si Dieu est pour nous, qui sera contre nous?

 

Psalms 16 :11. 11 Thou wilt shew me the path of life: in thy presence is fulness of joy;

Psaumes 16:11. 11 Tu me feras connaître le sentier de la vie ; Il y a d'abondantes joies devant ta face,

 

1 John 5. 3-5

3 For this is the love of God, that we keep his

commandments: and his commandments are not grievous. 4 For

whatsoever is born of God overcometh the world: and this is the victory that

overcometh the world, even our faith. 5 Who is he that

overcometh the world, but he that believeth that Jesus is the Son of God?

 

1 Jean 5.  3 -5. Car l'amour de Dieu consiste a garder ses commandements. Et ses commandements ne sont pas pénibles, 4 parce que tout ce qui est né de Dieu

triomphe du monde; et la victoire qui triomphe du monde, c'est notre foi. 5 Qui

est celui qui a triomphé du monde, sinon celui qui croit que Jésus est le Fils

de Dieu?

 

 

1 Corinthians 15: 51 - 58 

51 Behold, I shew you a mystery; We shall not all sleep, but we shall all be changed, 52 In a moment, in the twinkling of an eye, at the last trump: for the trumpet shall sound, and the dead shall be raised incorruptible, and we shall be changed. 53 For this corruptible must put on incorruption, and this mortal must put on immortality. 54 So when this corruptible shall have put on incorruption, and this mortal shall have put on immortality, then shall be brought to pass the saying that is written, Death is swallowed up in victory. 55 O death, where is thy sting? O grave, where is thy victory? 56 The sting of death is sin; and the strength of sin is the law. 57 But thanks be to God, which giveth us the victory through our Lord Jesus Christ. 58 Therefore, my beloved brethren, be ye stedfast, unmoveable, always abounding in the work of the Lord, forasmuch as ye know that your labour is not in vain in the Lord.

 

51 Voici, je vous dis un mystère: nous ne mourrons pas tous, mais tous nous serons changés,  52 en un instant, en un clin d'oeil, à la dernière trompette. La trompette sonnera, et les morts ressusciteront incorruptibles, et nous, nous serons changés.  53 Car il faut que ce corps corruptible revête l'incorruptibilité, et que ce corps mortel revête l'immortalité. 54 Lorsque ce corps corruptible aura revêtu l'incorruptibilité, et que ce corps mortel aura revêtu l'immortalité, alors s'accomplira la parole qui est écrite: La mort a été engloutie dans la victoire. 55 O mort, où est ta victoire? O mort, où est ton aiguillon? 56 L'aiguillon de la mort, c'est le péché; et la puissance du péché, c'est la loi.  57 Mais grâces soient rendues à Dieu, qui nous donne la victoire par notre Seigneur Jésus Christ!  58 Ainsi, mes frères bien-aimés, soyez fermes, inébranlables, travaillant de mieux en mieux à l'oeuvre du Seigneur, sachant que votre travail ne sera pas vain dans le Seigneur.
